Instalação das Fontes

Windows

Descompacte o arquivo. (para o .tar.bz2 é necessário o WinRAR) e copie os arquivos .ttf no diretório C:\Windows\Fonts

Linux

Descompacte o arquivo e copie os arquivos .ttf no diretório /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF (ou /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType dependendo da distribuição)

Visualizar caracteres japoneses (hiragana, katakana e kanji) no computador é essencial para qualquer um que esteja aprendendo japonês. As fontes abaixo são True Type e podem ser utilizadas em qualquer sistema que aceite esse tipo.

Com essas fontes instaladas é possível visualizar os textos em japonês, mas se você quiser digitar veja meu post sobre o IME de Windows XP e o Ajax IME. Com o primeiro é possível digitar diretamente no Word e em outros programas, mas o download é meio grande e requer um Windows XP original. Já o Ajax IME é mais acessível pois é uma aplicação web, você digita direto no seu browser (só requer as fontes instaladas).

Instruções para Linux:
Descompacte o arquivo

tar -xjvf kochi-substitute-20030809.tar.bz2

Copie os arquivos .ttf no diretório /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF (ou /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType)

cp kochi-substitute-20030809/*.ttf /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF

Instruções para Windows:
Descompacte o arquivo. (para o .tar.bz2 é necessário o WinRAR)
Depois é só copiar as fontes (arquivos .ttf) em C:\Windows\Fonts
